Luverne is located in Crenshaw County at the intersection of Alabama Highways 331 and 10, and is approximately 65 miles from Montgomery.

Luverne residents enjoy a pleasant year-round climate, with long summers and mild winters.

Major employers
Major agricultural products include peanuts, timber, cotton, corn and hay. The largest industry in Crenshaw County is Sister Schubert's Homemade Rolls Inc., located just outside Luverne.

Recreation
Active Park and Recreation Department with many festivals thoughout the year including the Peanut Festival in late August and the county Rodeo in May.
